De Vos Talking to Cardiff - Ipswich Town News

Town target Jason De Vos is in Cardiff today for further talks with boss Lennie Lawrence and chairman Sam Hamman prior to deciding where he will spend next season. Canadian international De Vos was at Portman Road yesterday and a decision is expected today.

De Vos is off to join Frank Yallop's Canada squad on Thursday ahead of a friendly with the San Jose Earthquakes - Yallop's old club side - and the beginning of the Canadians' World Cup qualifying campaign. Ideally he wants to be settled on a new club before joining up with his national side.

The former Darlington and Dundee United man could miss a number of games in the early part of next season due to World Cup qualifiers.

The 30-year-old central defender has also been offered a new one-year deal by current club Wigan, while Stoke City are also reported to be interested.

Should his bid for De Vos prove unsuccessful, Town boss Joe Royle might be interested to note that former target Leigh Bromby has been released by cash-strapped Sheffield Wednesday.
