Win For Jason's Canadians - Ipswich Town News

Town central defender Jason De Vos played the full 90 minutes as Canada beat the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 at the Quakes' Spartan Stadium on Saturday night.

Goals from Tomasz Radzinski, Paul Peschisolido and a Craig Waibel own goal won the match for the Canadians, with Brian Ching netting a consolation penalty for the MLS club.

Canada start their World Cup qualification campaign next week when they face Belize in a two-legged tie on June 13th and 16th, both games being played at the Richardson Stadium in Kingston, Ontario.

Ex-Town defender Frank Yallop, now head coach of Canada, enjoyed a happy return to San Jose, where he won two MLS titles in three years as coach: "I was very pleased with the performance.

"This was a great final tune-up before facing Belize next week and we showed that we can play and have several attacking options.”

Canada: Onstad (Hirschfeld 46), Stalteri, Jazic, McKenna, De Vos, De Guzman, Hume (Hutchinson 24), Imhof, De Rosario, Peschisolido (Brennan 74), Radzinski.
