Cobblers Game Confirmed - Ipswich Town News

Northampton have confirmed that the Town reserve friendly at Sixfields will take place on Monday, August 2nd.

Town are due to face Lazio in a Portman Road friendly on the same evening which means they are unable to field a first team side against the Cobblers.

Northampton considered switching the match but manager Colin Calderwood says a new date couldn't be fixed: "We looked at changing the date but they have other commitments so it will stay as it is.

"I think we have good enough games in our build up to give us a good test."

Former Town player John Deehan is director of football at Northampton, having spent the early part of last season scouting for the Blues.
