Royle Targeting Two - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Joe Royle has revealed he is targeting two players to strengthen his squad over the next few weeks. However, Royle says that despite the departure of high earner Marcus Bent, the Blues are still not able to afford to pay fees.

Royle says he will have a better idea of his squad after the out-of-contract players have put pen to paper in the next few days: "Once the picture is clearer - and it should be this week - I can start making plans.

"But there isn't going to be a rash of new signings. We are talking one or two at the most and we won't be paying money. That's the reality of the situation.

"I am working from a short short-list. I know the people I would like to approach and I have spoken to agents to make them aware, but that's as far as I can take it for the time being."
