Joe: Wigan Favourites - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Joe Royle says that he sees Wigan as one of the favourites for promotion from the Coca-Cola Championship this season. As for the Blues, he says they need to first look at matching last season's fifth place and then to progress from there.
Royle told the club site: "This division is very ordinary, I have no doubt about that.
"It's quite simple, any club that can spend a million or two will have a great chance of going up.
"For that reason alone, I would make Wigan one of the favourites to win promotion, certainly on what I saw last season.
"The likes of ourselves have to approach things in a different way and we have got the players coming through the Academy system.
"But our target is clear enough, to match what we did last year - and then look to improve on it. That's what we have got to aim for."
