Santos Set for QPR - Ipswich Town News
French defender Georges Santos looks set to join QPR on a two-year deal. The former Tranmere, Sheffield United and Grimsby player will have a medical on Monday before his free transfer is confirmed.
Santos joined the Blues last summer when without a club but failed to win a regular first team place in his spell at Portman Road.
QPR boss Ian Holloway says he has been after the Marseille-born player for some time: "He's a player I've had my eye on for a while. I wanted to bring him in last year, but Ipswich wouldn't let him go.
"He plays the way I want, he's very quick, a great communicator and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Santos's removal from the wage bill gives the green light for Joe Royle to add to his squad. A new right winger looks a likely target.
