Three in Irish Action - Ipswich Town News
Academy trio Billy Clarke, Cathal Lordan and Michael Synnott were all in the Ireland U18 side which drew 2-2 with the hosts in their final game of the Falkenberg tournament in Sweden on Saturday afternoon.
Defender Synnott was unlucky to see the second Swedish goal deflect in off him to put the home side two goals up but Billy Dennehy (Shelbourne) and Ian Morris (Leeds) got the Irish back on terms.
Ireland finished second in the tournament behind Sweden on goal difference.
Manager Noel O'Reilly was pleased with his side's efforts: "It was a great performance and a great week's work.
"We could have had six goals against Sweden and played brilliantly. I am delighted with how the players have performed especially as it is so early in our season and we're no where near as fit or sharp as we would be in a couple of months."
Ireland U18s: Randolph (Charlton Athletic); McMahon (Home Farm), Synnott (Ipswich Town), Castle (Reading), Stapleton (Reading); Lordan (Ipswich Town), Wilson (Portsmouth), Morris (Leeds United); Clarke (Ipswich Town), Kearney (Everton), Dennehy (Shelbourne).
