Hogg on Standby - Ipswich Town News

Young central defender or full-back Chris Hogg is on standby for an England U20s training camp. The camp is being held in Leicestershire from from 14th to 17th August.

Hogg, contracted with the Blues until the end of 2004/05, is available on a free transfer and has not been given a squad number for the season ahead.

The 19-year-old has long been available on a free transfer, having failed to progress sufficiently since his move from York City in the summer of 2001 for a fee which could have risen to £150,000.

Hogg has been overtaken at Town by younger players like Aidan Collins and Gerard Nash, however, he has continued to win England recognition.

Last season he spent time out on loan with Boston United but returned to Portman Road after former Blue Neil Thompson's sacking.
