Joe: Makin Mistake - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Joe Royle says full-back Chris Makin made a mistake in leaving Town and signing for Leicester City. Makin has signed a one-year deal at the Walkers Stadium.
Royle said: "I'm not surprised Chris has signed for Leicester but it is only a one-year deal. If he had stayed with us then once he had shown he was fully fit at the end of the two months which we had offered then we would have been talking about a two-year deal at least.
"But that is Chris's choice. I feel he has been badly advised but he is old enough and experienced enough to make his own mind up."
Makin is understood to have spent time with Premiership Bolton after leaving Town on the day after his contract ended but failed to win a deal at the Reebok Stadium. A week later he surfaced at Leicester where he spent three weeks on trial.
