Released Town striker Alun Armstrong will not be offered a contract with Bristol City. The former Stockport and Boro man had been on trial with the West Country club.
An achilles injury prevented him playing in the friendly with Portsmouth earlier this week and manager Brian Tinnion has ruled out a move for the former Town frontman: "We will not be pursuing Alun Armstrong. He trained with us again yesterday and picked up another injury, so that is the end of that."
Another player Town released in the summer, Dutch midfielder Nabil Abidallah, has turned up playing for Clacton Town in a pre-season friendly. Reports in May linked him with ADO Den Haag back in his home country.
