Two Years for Naylor - Ipswich Town News

Stalwart Town defender or striker Richard Naylor has cleared up confusion regarding the length of his new contract by confirming that he put pen to paper on a new two-year deal in the summer.

Widespread reports had suggested the club's longest-serving player has signed for only one year, hwoever, he told the club site: "I have read everywhere that I was offered a one-year deal but the fact is that I signed a two-year contract, so hopefully that will clear up any confusion."

Naylor signed professional terms with the club in the summer of 1995, meaning this season will be his tenth at Portman Road.

The Leeds-born player, who made his senior debut in a 3-1 win at Sheffield United in September 1996, looks likely to be offered a testimonial before his new deal is up in June 2006.
