Scowy Leicester Link - Ipswich Town News
James Scowcroft is claimed to be a target of Leicester City in reports today. The Town striker or midfielder has been admired by Peter Taylor since his days as under 21 manager when he gave Scowcroft more than the odd run-out. Taylor was reported to be at the reserve game with Arsenal last Wednesday and may see the Stanton-based player as an ideal replacement for Stan Collymore who is set to end leave Leicester after another bust-up. Town manager George Burley said of the story: "We are not looking to sell good players, we are looking to add to the squad."
The story linking Town with US players Bobby Convey and Antonio Otero appearing in several places this week seems to be a rehash of a story which appeared at the beginning of the month. We asked the club then if there was any truth in it and received a simple 'no' as the answer.
