Four With National Sides - Ipswich Town News

Four members of Joe Royle's squad are joining up with their international squads this week. There are no Championship games next Saturday with it designated part of an international weekend.

Charlton target Darren Bent and Ian Westlake are joining up with Peter Taylor's U21 squad for their games with Austria and Poland.

England face Austria at the Sepp Doll Stadion in Krems on Friday and Poland at the Municipal Stadium in Rybnik on the following Tuesday.

Matt Richards, a recent U21 debutant, is not in the squad as he is currently suffering with a foot injury.

Part-time Town Academy coach Paul Goddard will be a member of the party, the former striker is a member of Peter Taylor's backroom staff.

Second-choice Town keeper Lewis Price is in the Wales U21 squad for their Group Six game in Azerbaijan on Friday. Price recently made his debut in the 0-0 draw with Latvia.

Central defender Jason De Vos is off to Canada for their match with Honduras in Edmonton on Saturday and away against Costa Rica in San Jose next Wednesday.

Also in Frank Yallop's squad is 17-year-old winger Jaime Peters, a Town target. The former Kaiserslautern trainee recently had a trial with the Blues after which manager Joe Royle told him he was interested in signing him.

Peters, who made his senior international debut in Canada's recent 2-0 defeat to Guatemala, was committed to further trials at Millwall, Derby and Manchester United.

Royle said recently that he wasn't expecting Peters to make a decision on his future quickly.
