Bent Goal Taken Away - Ipswich Town News
Town's first goal in Monday's 2-1 win against Wolves has been officially credited as an own goal by defender Jody Craddock and will not go on Darren Bent's tally for the season.
Supporters in the Greene King Stand felt that the defender had got the touch and not Bent, a view that referee Phil Crossley agreed with in his report.
A Football League spokesman says they looked at the tape and agreed with the official: "We had to slow down the video dramatically and we have notified both clubs that it was an own goal.
"It looks as though the ball came off the Wolves number six Jody Craddock and that is why it bobbled slowly over the line."
