Burley Denies any Scowcroft Interest - Ipswich Town News

Town manager has said that he has had no approach from any club for James Scowcroft. Stories yesterday suggested that Leicester might be ready to make a bid for the Town number 10. The Blues' manager said: "It is news to me. We have had no offers for James. We are not looking to sell our good players. We are looking to add to the squad."

Burley also revealed that Laurent Charvet was amongst the players he looked to bring in over the summer. The Town manager said: "We spoke to Bobby Robson about him and watched him a couple of times but we did not make a bid for him nor did we speak to the player."

Charvet has since joined Manchester City.

Town have confirmed (after originally denying) that Bobby Convey and Antonio Otero will be joining Town for a short spell. The players, both midfielders, play for DC United who are coached by Frank Yallop. Convey, 17, became the youngest player ever to make an MLS appearance when he was in the DC United side last season. MLS has agreements with several British and European clubs that they can send young players for periods of training that will aid in their development. Our American sources suggest that there is little chance of either gaining work permits to play in the UK.
