Chairman Anger at Report - Ipswich Town News
Town chairman David Sheepshanks has reacted angrily to a newspaper report last Saturday which claimed that Liverpool were targeting striker Dean Bowditch ahead of the closure of the transfer window on Tuesday.
Sheepshanks told the club site: "I read reports that Dean was going to Liverpool and it's complete poppycock.
"It infuriates me to read some of this reporting. We all understand speculation sells newspapers, it's the way of the world but actually some of it has been dangerously close to inciting the fans to feel that decisions are being made against the best interests of the team. It's total rubbish.
"I know we have had the nightmare of relegation and everything that has gone with it but actually we are trying very hard to put things right and so far, so good."
