Town central defender Jason De Vos scored Canada's goal as they drew 1-1 with Honduras in Edmonton on Saturday. De Vos nodded in Iain Hume's freekick in the 82nd minute.
Honduras hit back six minutes later through an Amado Gulevara penalty.
The Canadians, who play Costa Rica away on Wednesday, had a goal disallowed straight after the Central Americans' equaliser.
Coach Frank Yallop says his side, who lost their one previous qualifier 2-0 against Guatemala, can still make the World Cup finals: "We need to win the next three of four. We can still do it."
