Town target Jaime Peters has opted to join Millwall rather than the Blues according to international team-mate Jason De Vos. Peters, a 17-year-old winger, had a trial at Portman Road recently and Joe Royle was keen to grab his signature.
Peters was already committed to trials with Derby and Manchester United as well as with the Lions and has decided on a move to London where he has family.
De Vos and Canada boss Frank Yallop have both been trying to persuade Peters to move to Portman Road: "Despite the best efforts of Frank and myself, Jaime has said he wants to go to Millwall.
"He has family in London so I can understand his
decision. It is quite daunting for a young Canadian to come over here to play football, so it makes sense to go to a club where he has family to
support him."
Reports indicate that he will sign a contract at the Den later this week. Two more young Canadian internationals, Adrian Serioux and Josh Simpson, also recently joined Millwall.
