Burley Willing to Sell Scowy - Ipswich Town News
George Burley is sending out mixed signals regarding his willingness to sell James Scowcroft to Leicester should any offer come in.
On the one hand the manager says: "We are not looking to sell anybody, we want to strengthen the squad. We’ve had this speculation before but I speak to a lot of managers about a lot of players.
"It’s an ongoing situation. James is an important member of our squad. He’s not in the side at the moment but that can change." While conversely he adds that: "Every player has his price."
Scowcroft has had trouble making the Town side this season, although much of this has been due to an interrupted pre-season. Richard Naylor has kept him out of the attack recently, while the good form of Jim Magilton, Matt Holland and Jermaine Wright has meant that there is no place in the midfield.
Peter Taylor is known to be a long-term admirer of the Stanton-based player and it was he who gave Scowcroft several U21 caps. Taylor has also been linked with another former England U21 today, Manchester United's Jonathan Greening.
