Reserves Face Arsenal - Ipswich Town News

Town's second string face Arsenal at Barnet's Underhill this evening (KO 7pm) without regular keeper Lewis Price. The Wales U21 stopper is being rested with Kelvin Davis still a doubt ahead of Sunday's first team clash at Coventry due to his back injury.

Irish Academy keeper Shane Supple, 17, will make his third reserves start of the season in Price's place.

Included in the squad is free transfer-listed defender Chris Hogg whose proposed loan move to Darlington appears to be off with Quakers' manager Dave Hodgson now happy to stick with his current squad.

Tony Dinning will have another chance to show he has what it takes to win a permanent contract with his two-month loan from Wigan ending after Sunday's trip to Highfield Road.

Up front, Pablo Couñago will be on the look out for goals, as will Dean Bowditch who joins up with the England U19s after Sunday's game for the match with the Czech Republic at Carrow Road next Wednesday.

Fellow striker Billy Clarke, 16 and already an Ireland U19 international, will want to continue his rich vein of scoring form at Town U18 and reserve level if he comes off the bench. Clarke looks like being one of the next players to progress from the youth set-up into the Blues' first team squad.

Reserves: Shane Supple, Chris Hogg, Scott Barron, Scott Mitchell, Jerrome Sobers, Aidan Collins, Daniel Flack, Tony Dinning, Pablo Couñago, Dean Bowditch, Antonio Murray. Subs: Liam Craig, Michael Synnott, Owen Garvan, Billy Clarke, Darryl Knights.
