Fans Want Ska Tribute - Ipswich Town News
Coventry fans are pressing the Sky Blues to play the classic Specials single 'A Message to You, Rudy' ahead of Sunday's game, in tribute to the city's Two-Tone ska label which celebrates its 25th anniversary this month.
Former fanzine editor Paul McKay came up with the idea of playing a Specials track to commemorate Coventry's greatest musical export and fans are being urged to email the club to lobby them into agreeing to their request.
'A Message to You, Rudy' was originally recorded by its writer Dandy Livingstone in 1967 with the Specials version reaching number 10 in the charts in October 1979.
