£2m Should Win It - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Joe Royle says that any side with around £2 million to spend ought to be able to secure themselves promotion from the Championship this season. The Blues are in no position to afford to spend that kind of cash to give them an extra push towards the Premiership.

Royle said: "Anyone who can spend £2 million in this division should go up.

"There is not the highest quality in this division that I have ever seen but the spending power is very powerful if you have it.

"You saw last season with Norwich and West Brom who had it what the difference was and anyone who can make that difference this season can go up."

League leaders Wigan are perhaps the most cash rich side in the division, while Reading and Cardiff both have 'sugar daddies' who may be able to finance big money moves as the season progresses.

Many of the traditionally bigger clubs are - like Town - still hamstrung by financial problems after being relegated from the Premiership.
