Praise for Price - Ipswich Town News

Second-choice keeper Lewis Price has received praise from manager Joe Royle. Price saved Stern John's penalty in the first half of Sunday's 2-1 win at Coventry.

Royle told teh club site that the performance will have done the 20-year-old good: "His confidence will certainly be high.

"His penalty save was fantastic because it wasn't a bad penalty at all and he looked big in the goal all through the game.

"The last time Lewis played I told him his objective was to push on from there and challenge Kelvin for the first team shirt and he has taken that on and shown he wants the top job."

Royle is keen to see Price, who joined the Town Academy from Southampton, go out on loan to gain experience. This would also allow Irish youngster Shane Supple to continue his development in the reserves.

Price is currently away with the Wales U21 side and will face team-mate Darren Bent and the England U21s at Blackburn on Friday evening. They also take on Poland next Tuesday.
