Kuqi Nets Twice - Ipswich Town News

Shefki Kuqi continued the good weekend for Blues' strikers by netting twice as Finland defeated Armenia 3-1 a World Cup Qualifying Group One match in Tampere. On Friday fellow frontman Darren Bent scored the second goal as the England U21s defeated Wales 2-0.

Kuqi made a rare start for his adopted country and hit home on nine to put the home side ahead. Alexei Eremenko Jr added a second before Armen Shahgeldyan pulled a goal back for the Armenians.

The result was settled when Kuqi scored Finland's third and his second with two minutes of the game left.

Kuqi has now scored five goals in 35 international appearances, although the vast majority of his games have been as a sub.

Finland play Holland in Amsterdam on Wednesday night.
