U18s Beat Arsenal - Ipswich Town News
Town's U18s beat Arsenal's youngsters 1-0 away on Saturday morning but their win was tainted by another knee injury to central defender Gerard Nash. The Irishman has only just returned to action after the second cruciate knee ligament injury of his short career.
The extent of his latest injury is not yet known but any setback is likely to be a blow for Nash, who made his senior debut in last season's 6-1 drubbing of this weekend's opponents Burnley.
Town's goal came from Danny Haynes in the second half. The Blues fielded trialist Charlie Sheringham, son of Teddy, as a sub.
Another son of a former international, Lubo Guentchev, has been offered a short-term deal with the Academy.
