Bent Misses Out - Ipswich Town News

England U21 hotshot Darren Bent will miss this afternoon's game in Azerbaijan after picking up a hamstring injury. However, the frontman is hopeful he will be fit for Saturday's league game against Burnley.

Bent was set to make his first start after scoring seven goals in nine games from the bench as Carlton Cole picked up a knock in Friday's 2-0 win against Wales.

The striker missed training yesterday due to the tight hamstring and sessions with the England physios failed to improve the problem.

Town's Welsh U21 keeper Lewis Price will be in action today against Poland in Swansea despite an injury of his own. Price clashed with Newcastle's James Milner as the former Leeds man netted England's first goal on Friday and suffered bruising to his leg.

However, the 20-year-old is OK to be involved tonight and is not a doubt ahead of the Burnley game. Town are still waiting on Kelvin Davis's back injury before handing Price his first home league start against the Clarets.

The Wales game is live on Sky Sports One from 7.30pm.
