Agent on Petition - Ipswich Town News

Barry MacLean, agent for Canada youngster Jaime Peters, has commented on the fans' petition aimed at persuading the winger to join the Blues. TWTD reported yesterday that Message Board regular Simon Copley had started the petition with the aim of encouraging the former Kaiserslautern trainee to commit his future to Town.

MacLean said in a reply to Copley's email alerting him to the petition's existence that the Blues are still in with a chance of signing his player: "It is heartening to hear from people who are committed to the game and have such a strong allegiance to their club.

"I am sure we will finalise all of the details in the next few weeks, so please be patient and there may be a chance that Jaime ends up in an Ipswich strip."

Peters had an impressive trial at Portman Road during the close season after leaving Kaiserslautern. He did enough to be told that the Blues would offer him a deal, however, he had already arranged similar spells at Derby, Millwall and Manchester United.

The 17-year-old looked set to join Millwall a few weeks back as he has family in the London area but now it appears his mind is still to be made up.
