Villa Bent Link - Ipswich Town News

Aston Villa are the latest Premiership side to be linked with Town striker Darren Bent. A tabloid newspaper claims David O'Leary is looking to pay £4 million for the England U21 in the January transfer window.

The Blues turned down a £3 million bid from Charlton in August and are determined to hold on to the frontman, apparently slapping a £5 million price-tag on his head during the summer transfer window.

Since August Bent has progressed and has scored regularly for the England U21 side, enhancing his reputation and presumably adding to his value.

Everton are also thought to be watching Bent, while local rivals Norwich have also been represented at recent Town games.
