Town's Reserves Win - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves finally gained their first win of the season with a comfortable 2-0 victory against West Ham at Dagenham and Redbridge's Victoria Road. Strike pair Pablo Couñago and Dean Bowditch netted both goals close to the end of the first half.

The Blues largely controlled the opening period and went ahead in the 42nd minute when Dean Bowditch played the ball wide to Daniel Flack on the right, the winger crossing low to Pablo Couñago who netted from close range.

In injury time the Spaniard found Bowditch with a 25-yard cross-field pass, the England U19 sending a half-volley into the top corner of the net.

The Blues held on to their lead with little incident in the second half and returning keeper Kelvin Davis came through apparently unscathed even when Moses Ashikodi clattered him with a late tackle.

Both Town strikers impressed, while Liam Craig, Daniel Flack and Aidan Collins all put in solid displays.

Town: Kelvin Davis, Adem Atay, Liam Craig, Scott Mitchell, Aidan Collins, Chris Hogg, Daniel Flack, Liam Manning, Pablo Couñago, Dean Bowditch, Antonio Murray. Unused subs: Darryl Knights, Shane Supple, Ben Patten, James Krause, Kieron Leabon.
