Scowy to Return? - Ipswich Town News
Former Town striker James Scowcroft could be about to return to Portman Road. Boss Joe Royle is reportedly ready to bring Scowcroft back to Town three years after he left for Leicester City in a £3 million deal.
Royle targeted Scowcroft in the summer but was rebuffed by then boss Micky Adams, however, with Craig Levein having taken over last week, the Town manager will again enquire about the 29-year-old's availability.
Levein played Scowcroft up front alongside David Connolly in the Foxes' draw with Crewe last weekend and could well be keen to hold on to the frontman.
On the other hand, the striker or midfielder, whose contract is up in the summer, is probably amongst their higher earners and the Foxes may well feel they can allow him to leave in order to reduce their wage bill.
