Taricco Wants Return - Ipswich Town News

Former full-back Mauricio Taricco says he would welcome the opportunity to rejoin the Blues should there be the possibility of a move back to Portman Road. Taricco, who joined Spurs from Town in 1998 for £1.775 million, is currently out of favour at White Hart Lane.

Taricco has less than a year remaining on his contract at Tottenham and has made no secret of his desire to return to Town, telling TWTD only a few months after leaving that he would like to make his way back to Portman Road at some stage in his career.

The former Argentinian U23 international says he has a list of clubs he would move to but is also considering retiring: "There are only a few clubs in England I would go to - and Ipswich is a club that I would go to - no question. I had some great times there and I was treated right when I was there.

"If I don't get a move to one of those few clubs then I will probably hang up my boots at the end of the season or go abroad."

The former Argentinos Juniors player has previously said that he will move to his father's homeland of Italy when he hangs up his boots.

Taricco says a loan move is looking a more attractive proposition: "I have had offers to go on loan but at the time it was not right for me but maybe now it may be different.

"It is a decision I will take if it becomes concrete between the clubs. At the moment I'm under contract with Spurs.

"I have a great affection for Ipswich. They are doing great at the moment, top of the league and playing good football."
