Club AGM Tonight - Ipswich Town News

Town are holding their AGM at the Regent this evening. With the number of shareholders significantly increased since the share issue at the turn of the year, far more fans have the opportunity of attending than in previous years.

The club's initial plan was to hold the meeting in lower tier of the Greene King Stand, a location hardly conducive to debate in mid-November.

However, on the suggestion of the Ipswich Town Independent Supporters' Trust, the club agreed to switch to the town centre theatre.

With 1,781 seats, the Regent is the largest venue of its type in East Anglia. Town now has 3,300 shareholders, although the club expects a much lower number to attend the meeting.

The re-election of all the club directors are amongst the 13 proposals shareholders will vote on.

Ipswich Town Ist's proposal for the introduction on to the club's board of a supporter elected representative is also being put to the vote. More information on this from the Trust website.

Two of the club's proposals are somewhat incomprehensible to those without some knowledge of company law. A plain English explanation appears on the Trust site.
