Cup Night for U18s - Ipswich Town News
Town's U18 side face Portsmouth at Portman Road this evening in the third round of the FA Youth Cup (KO 7pm). Should the Blues win, they could face Manchester United in the next round.
The most familiar names in the squad for tonight's match are defender Aidan Collins, striker Darryl Knights, midfielder Owen Garvan and goalkeeper Shane Supple.
Collins and Knights have both made brief first team appearances, while Garvan and Supple have been on the bench for the senior side. Also involved is Charlie Sheringham, son of former England international Teddy.
The winners of the tie face a trip to take on the victors of the Stoke City-Manchester United game which is being played on Thursday.
Due to tonight's game, the Blues fielded a very young side in the league game against Fulham on Saturday and won 3-0. Town's goals came from trialist Dean McDonald (2) and Danny Haynes. Charlie Sheringham had a penalty saved.
U18 squad: Supple, Blackmore, Synnott, Krause, Beveridge, Collins, Casement, Ainsley, Haynes, Lordan, Garvan, Haverson, Trotter, Craig, Moore, Knights, Clarke, Sheringham and Leabon.
