Town Land Loanee - Ipswich Town News

Town have signed Arsenal defender Daniel Karbassiyoon on a month's loan. If the paperwork goes through, the 20-year-old American will go into the squad for this evening's top of the table game at home to Wigan.

A US international at U17 and U19 levels, Karbassiyoon joined Arsenal in the summer of 2003 from US side Roanoke Star as a striker but now plays mainly at left-back or left midfield.

The Virginian scored on his Arsenal debut when he came on as a sub in the Carling Cup match against Manchester City.

His only start came against Everton in the same competition and he made a further appearance from the bench in later Manchester United tie.

Town boss Joe Royle told the club site: "Daniel was off home to spend Christmas in Virginia but he has given that up to spend it with us at Millwall!

"He can play left-back or left side of midfield and providing the paperwork is completed in time - and I'm sure that will happen - he will be added to the squad for tonight's game.

"With Drissa out until January, we are short of numbers in the full-back positions but Daniel will give us options now."
