Painter to Meet Taylor - Ipswich Town News
Town-supporting darts star Kevin 'The Artist' Painter is through the quarter-finals of the PDC World Darts Championship at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet where he will meet reigning champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor in a re-run of last year's final.
Painter came through his third round match against Wayne Jones 4-2 on Wednesday before defeating long-time friend Andy Jenkins 4-3 on Friday.
The North Stander's form has not yet reached the levels it did this time last year and he will have to improve significantly to beat Taylor, who has been in imperious form so far this week, winning 4-0 against Alex Roy and Dennis Priestley in his first two matches.
Taylor defeated Painter 7-6 after a tie-break in last season's final, widely regarded as the greatest in Championship history.
