Trialist in Reserves - Ipswich Town News
Town's reserves take on Portsmouth at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm) and will again field trialist Dean McDonald. The former Arsenal trainee played for the Blues in last week's second string game at Watford.
Striker or midfielder McDonald scored two goals for the Town U18s just before the holiday period in a 3-0 win over Fulham, having previously scored two goals in a 5-2 win over the Blues when on trial with the Cottagers.
The 18-year-old was released by the Gunners in the summer and has also had a trial at Wycombe Wanderers.
The most senior players in Steve McCall's squad are Pablo Couñago, Dean Bowditch, Matt Richards and Lewis Price.
Like the Blues, Pompey will field a young side, although they do include former Town loanee Mark Burchill.
Reserves: Price, Mitchell, Craig, Manning, Collins, Patten, McDonald, Garvan, Couñago, Bowditch, Richards. Subs: Flack, Atay, Knights, Sobers, Casement.
