Reserves Beat Pompey - Ipswich Town News
Town's reserves won only their second game of the season as a Matt Richards goal took them to a 1-0 win over Portsmouth at Portman Road. Richards struck in the first half when he reacted to uncertainty in the Pompey defence.
The Blues fielded former Arsenal trainee Dean McDonald and the 18-year-old impressed in midfield.
Town had much the better of the game and Steve McCall's young side deserved their win. Portsmouth fielded a similarly youthful side, although former Town loanee Mark Burchill was in their side.
Reserves: Price, Mitchell, Craig, Manning, Collins, Patten, McDonald, Garvan, Couñago (Knights 57), Bowditch, Richards. Unused: Flack, Atay, Casement, Sobers.
