No Deal for Kelly - Ipswich Town News

Irish trialist John Paul Kelly will not be offered a deal at Portman Road. The former Liverpool midfielder has been on trial since before Christmas but has not done enough to win himself a contract.

The Ireland U19 international left Liverpool early in the season complaining of homesickness but is keen to have a second stab at a career in English football.

Kelly is understood to be interesting a number of other sides, including Aston Villa, Celtic and old club Liverpool.

Town's other trialist over the Christmas period, former Arsenal midfielder or striker Dean McDonald, will be offered a deal this week which will keep him at Portman Road until the end of the season.

McDonald has impressed in a number of U18 and reserve games.
