The 6ft 4in tall Chelmsford-born player progressed into the Colchester first team towards the end of last season and is primarily seen as a right-back. However, he has also played up front on a number of occasions and scored a hat-trick against Rushden and Diamonds in December. So far this season he has scored nine goals in 33 appearances, playing in a variety of positions.
Town would face competition from other sides for the signature of the £500,000-rated utility man, with Arsenal, Charlton and Blackburn also keeping an eye on his progress.
