Squad Returns from Break - Ipswich Town News

Town's first team squad returned from their break in Tenerife earlier today and will go straight back into training on Saturday. Manager Joe Royle says if the Blues can keep picking up points at the rate they have so far this season, then they should win themselves promotion.

The Town boss told the club site: "The players had the first couple of days off while we were over in Tenerife, then it was down to some hard work.

"They did a fair bit of running and we mixed the training up a bit as well. They will be back training at the club on Saturday and we'll step it up from there towards the Sheffield game.

"We know there is a long way to go yet but we're averaging two points a game, have only lost five matches all season and are top of the Championship on merit.

"We've added a couple of players over the past week as well with David Unsworth and Jimmy Juan coming in, so we are no longer light on numbers.

"We'll give it a real go and, if we can maintain that two points per game average, we'll be right up there at the end of the season."
