Reserves Lose Again - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves were defeated 1-0 by Coventry for the second time in a week, at Portman Road on Monday night. Ex-Town Academy striker Craig Reid netted the winner on the half hour.

The Blues were without loanee Jimmy Juan who is not yet over a foot injury picked up in last week's reserve game at Highfield Road.

Frontman Craig Reid joined the Blues from Coventry in 2002 but returned to the Sky Blues last summer after being released by the Town Academy. The striker had his revenge on 30 when he turned and hit a shot which beat Lewis Price.

Despite fielding a stronger side than at Highfield Road, Coventry were again the better side. Town's best opportunity came in injury time when Dean Bowditch hit a post.

Town's reserves remain bottom of the FA Premier Reserve League (South) on 10 points, having gained just two wins all season.

Striker Pablo Couñago was replaced at half-time after less than impressive display.

Reserves: Price, Mitchell, Barron (Krause 73), Manning, Collins, Patten, McDonald, Garvan, Couñago (Clarke 46), Bowditch, Richards. Not used:Flack, Supple, Sobers.
