Lazio Friendly in July - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that Town will finally play the first of their two friendlies with Lazio in July as part of the 2005/06 pre-season programme.
The Italian club agreed to play two friendlies with the Blues at Portman Road as the 'fee' for Matteo Sereni when the keeper moved to the Rome club on a free transfer in the summer of 2003. The second game between the two sides will be played in the summer of 2006.
Town, still very much unsure which division they will be in next season, are yet to organise their pre-season tour.
The only other pre-season match announced is the benefit game for ex-Town youth coach Brian Owen against Colchester United at Layer Road, although no date has yet been set.
Owen, who was at Portman Road in the Bobby Robson era, is a former U's physio and is currently a coach at Layer Road.
