Youths to Face Spurs - Ipswich Town News

Town's U18s will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup. Spurs beat Watford 2-0 at Vicarage Road on Thursday night to set-up the two-legged tie, Charlie Daniels and Andy Barcham scoring the goals

The first semi-final will be at Portman Road on a date prior to Saturday, 9th April and the second at White Hart Lane before Saturday, 23rd April.

Southampton will play either Derby or Wolves in the other tie.

Spurs beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at home in the third round, Liverpool 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Anfield in the fourth and Everton 2-1 at White Hart Lane in the fifth.

The game sets up a dilemma for Tottenham legend Teddy Sheringham, whose son Charlie plays for the Town U18 side.

The two-legged final, covered live by Sky, will be played on Monday, 23rd May and Friday, 27th May.

The Blues, if they make it, will want to play the home leg first, as the stage from the Neil Diamond gig the previous night is likely to still be in place on the day of the second game.
