Youth Cup Dates Set - Ipswich Town News

The dates have been set for the U18 side's FA Youth Cup semi-final matches with Tottenham Hotspur. The first leg is at Portman Road on Friday, April 8th and the second at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, April 13th (both KO 7pm).

Town defeated Portsmouth 3-2 at Portman Road in round three, Stoke 2-1 away after extra-time in round four, Aston Villa 3-1 at home at the fifth round stage and Colchester 5-0 at Layer Road in the quarter-final last week.

Spurs beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at home in the third round, Liverpool 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Anfield in the fourth, Everton 2-1 at White Hart Lane in the fifth and Watford 2-0 at Vicarage Road to win their place in the semis.

The winners of the semi-final, which will go to extra-time and penalties if required after the second leg, will face Southampton or Wolves in the final.

The two-legged final, covered live by Sky, will be played on Monday, 23rd May and Friday, 27th May. The Blues, if they make it, will want to play the home leg first, as the stage from the Neil Diamond gig the previous night is likely to still be in place on the day of the second game.
