Beattie Gets Caps Back - Ipswich Town News
Kevin Beattie is to receive replicas of the PFA Young Player of the Year award he won in 1973 and three of his England caps. The originals were lost in a fire during his spell as player-coach at Norwegian side Nybergsund.
Beattie, who played nine times for England, is chuffed to bits at the FA's award: "I really can't believe how lucky I am. I lost the originals but this has got to be the next best thing. To be honest, I had a tear in my eye when I was told. You can't really put into words what it means to you."
