Pablo Faces Spurs - Ipswich Town News
Pablo Couñago is the only senior player in the Town reserve side facing Tottenham at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm). The rest of the team is mainly Town's U18 side which faces Spurs in the home leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final on April 8th.
The U18 side provides 12 members of Steve McCall's squad for tonight's game, with Irish midfielder Owen Garvan probably the most impressive player in recent second string games. Fellow Irishman Billy Clarke is up front alongside Couñago.
Another Irishman, defender Gerard Nash, who is too old for the Youth Cup, continues his recovery from a knee operation, while French loanee Jimmy Juan misses out through injury. The Monaco man's spell with the club has been blighted by a long-standing foot problem.
Spurs include former Watford loanee Johnnie Jackson in their party, while Slovenian international Goran Bunjevcevic is the only other experienced player in the squad.
Reserves: Supple, Moore, Krause, Craig, Collins, Nash, McDonald, Manning, Couñago, Clarke, Garvan. Subs: Trotter, Casement, Hammond, Lordan, Haynes.
