Allen: Town Youths Tough - Ipswich Town News

Tottenham reserve team boss Clive Allen has warned his club's youth side that they are in for two very tough games when they face the Town U18s in the FA Youth Cup semi-finals. Allen's side were defeated 1-0 on Wednesday by a Town reserve side which was packed with members of the club's Academy side.

Allen said after the game: "The effort and endeavour of Ipswich was first class and we got a little insight into what our youth team are going to face in the semi-final next week.

"They are going to have a very, very tough game and I will report back to Patsy Holland with a few pointers.

"I would certainly hope the youth team play better than the reserves have tonight."

Town started with seven members of the U18 side in reserves with two more on as subs and another three left on the bench. The Spurs second string included no players involved in their FA Youth Cup quarter-final victory over Watford.

The first semi-final is at Portman Road on Friday, April 8th, with the second leg at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, 13th April (both KO 7pm).
