Mo' Petta Blues - Ipswich Town News

No particularly earth-shattering ITFC news, just confirmation from Bobby Petta that he is unlikely to be rejoining Town again: "I am busy here. I am talking with another club. If I reach an agreement I will be leaving Ipswich."

Whether the club is English, Dutch or whatever was not specified. George Burley now either has to look for a new left-sided midfielder, let Marco Holster fill Petta's role, or promote Sean Friars to the senior squad.

Meanwhile Town have made a new signing which is sure to create a stir amongst the more stuffy and conservative members of the board. The club has announced that they are taking on a female member of the groundstaff. Twenty-six year old Vanessa Smith is the woman making this giant leap for feminism in what is being reported as a first for the club (and according to some sources football as a whole). How the world's changed eh?

Yesterday was the final day for buying season tickets at the reduced price. It seems that many have chosen to save the forty quid (in my case) and get their seat early. The club report that 8000 tickets have been sold. The number of people asking for their name on their seat was not reported.
