Bent Banned from Driving - Ipswich Town News
Striker Darren Bent has been banned from driving for 28 days after being caught driving at 103mph on the A14 in his BMW X5. Sudbury magistrates also fined the England U21 international £600.
The incident happened between Rougham and Beyton near Bury St Edmunds on January 16th.
Bent pleaded guilty through his solicitor Barry Warburton who told the court: "On the evening of the offence there was very little traffic about and and his speed just drifted up. The vehicle he was driving is almost completely silent when travelling.
"He realises he will be disqualified, but he has a clean licence and he has assured me this will not happen again."
Bent is the second member of the current side to have been convicted of a driving offence this year. On-loan defender David Unsworth was banned for two years in March after being stopped while three times over the drink-drive limit.
