Clarke a Doubt - Ipswich Town News

Striker Billy Clarke is an injury worry ahead of Monday's FA Youth Cup final first leg against Southampton at St Mary's (KO 7.45pm). The Irish U19 international was clumsily tackled from behind late on in the second leg of the semi-final at Spurs and picked up a knee injury.

Town's medical staff will be working on the knock throughout the weekend. If the Cork-born striker doesn't make it, then Charlie Sheringham, son of Teddy, is a likely replacement.

The U18 Academy game with Birmingham scheduled for Saturday is expected to be called off to give the players a rest. Monday's reserve match with Chelsea has already been postponed

The second string take on Charlton at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm). With the first team in action on Sunday against Sunderland and the U18s having played last night, Steve McCall is likely to have to field several very young players alongside the likes of Lewis Price, Gerard Nash, and Dean McDonald.

Jimmy Juan and Drissa Diallo could play if they pass fitness tests.

Adem Atay, Liam Manning, Ben Patten and Daniel Flack, all set to leave Portman Road at the end of the season, will hope to impress any watching scouts if they are involved.
